Contract
Coaching begins with permission.
Agree the goal, the boundaries and what success looks like. Without a contract, coaching drifts into advice.

The coach does not carry the answer. The coach carries the question.
Coaching is a partnership of equals aimed at the client’s own thinking. It is non-directive by default, agenda-free, and measured entirely by what the client does differently after the room empties.
Coaching begins with permission.
Agree the goal, the boundaries and what success looks like. Without a contract, coaching drifts into advice.
Hear the person, not just the problem.
Level one is listening to yourself, level two to the words, level three to energy, hesitation and what is deliberately left unsaid.
A question is an intervention.
"What are you making that mean?" "What would you do if you were not afraid?" "What is the real decision here?" The question does the work advice cannot.
The insight lives just past the pause.
Most coaches rescue the client three seconds too early. Let the discomfort finish its sentence.
High support, high challenge.
Name the pattern you see, then hand it back without judgement. Warmth without candour is collusion.
No action, no coaching.
End every conversation with one specific, dated, self-chosen action — and the honest obstacle that could stop it.
What do you want from this conversation, and from the next ninety days?
What is actually happening? What evidence, not interpretation, do you have?
What could you do? What would you do with unlimited authority?
What will you do, by when, and who will know?
